Moncha Memory is still in early pilot — a small group of people are using it while we test whether the idea works. This policy explains, in plain terms, what information we collect, what we use it for, and what you can do about it.
This document will be updated as the product evolves. If anything important changes about how we handle your data, we'll let you know before that change applies.
What information we collect
Account: your email and name, only if you register to share something with another person. If you only use Moncha Memory for yourself, no account is needed.
Content: the photos, notes, or links you save, and the text you write to describe what you want to remember.
Location: if you grant permission, we store where a photo was taken — you can turn this off anytime from your device settings.
Technical information: a device identifier so we can send you notifications.
What we don't collect
We don't access your contacts.
We don't collect your browsing history outside the app.
We don't process payment information ourselves — that's handled directly by Apple or Google where applicable.
What we use this information for
Only to make the app work: storing your Memories, notifying you at the right time, and showing what you choose to share to the people you share it with. We don't use your content to train models, and we don't show ads — Moncha Memory has no advertising.
Who we share it with
We work with a small number of providers who help us run the service. None of them see the full content of your Memories beyond what's strictly needed for their function:
Cloudflare — stores the photos you upload.
Expo — delivers push notifications to your device.
Sentry — alerts us if something breaks technically; it only receives identifiers and error details, never the content of your notes or your exact location.
We do not sell your data to anyone, under any circumstances.
What you mark private, stays private
Any Memory you mark as "just for you" is visible only to you, even if it lives inside a space you share with other people. No one else — not even other members of that space — can see it.
How long we keep your information
For as long as the pilot stays active. If we ever decide not to continue, we'll either delete the data or give you advance notice so you can export it or request its deletion.
Your rights
You can ask us to delete your account and all your content at any time by writing to hello@getmoncha.app. Deletion is real — we don't keep a copy "just in case."
